Your home is by far the most valuable possession you own. Within it is all your personal belongings and the place you feel safe.

However, despite the best protection in place, there is always a risk of fire, theft, damage and natural disasters that can strike unexpectedly. To protect your home against this you will need home insurance. This is an investment to protect your home and belongings in case disaster struck.

Without insurance it is unlikely that you’d be able to afford to repair any damage that should occur which is why it is so important.

Home insurance isn’t a legal requirement, however most mortgage lenders will require buildings insurance to be in place before exchanging contracts.

We want to make claims as easy as possible. Our claims lines are available 24 hours a day and every day of the year. Our highly trained Claims Specialists assist you from start to finish, providing you with clear communication and reassurance, as well as practical help.

You can submit a claim by visiting our dedicated claims page, or giving us a call on 0344 844 3844.

If you need to make a claim, please refer to your policy or contact the claims team. There are a few things which will help:

  • Your policy number.
  • The date of the incident.
  • The cause of the loss or damage.
  • Details of the loss or damage together with the value of the item if known.
  • Police details where applicable.
  • Pictures and videos if possible.

It’s important you get in touch before you undertake any repairs or clean up, unless this is essential for protecting the building or your possessions.
